Birthday Mourns Loss; Parents Pick Up Slack

December 28- Randolph P. Birthday's highly acclaimed and widely coveted Honda Accord was totalled late Sunday afternoon on a patch of highway near the Magna smelter. Some details remain sketchy at this moment but authorities involved do estimate that a rapid loss of oil pressure may possibly have attributed to a failure in the valve lifters and perhaps the oil pump, allegedly destroying the bearings in the engine. The damages are estimated to be in the thousands of dollars; no word yet as to how the young Grindle will manage...one source told us on condition of anonymity that his social relations may suffer as a consequence. The good news is that the caused inconveniences will eventually be resolved, but there is no word on how long it will take the involved parties to clean up this mess.
To deal with the loss of transportation, Mr. Birthday's parents have agreed to shuttle him to work for the time being. It is not known right now what effects this will have on the already strained schedules of the family. Again we know at this time that Grindle is without a vehicle and that damages to the car are substantial; we'll keep you "post"ed as details become available.

Hey Randolph

Where is your blog, my young Grindle? It seems to have not been added to the links on the right, and I need to get the latest on dates and non-dates and hangouts and "just friends." I seem to remember that you have one, but I forgot the address if you do.

Cousin Eric is engaged!

I wanted to let everyone know about my engagement to Shannon Richards. I popped the question on Friday night at the Marriot Desert Ridge Resort. I did get a little (lot) nervous and forgot to get down on my knee, but with all the candles, roses, rose petals, and a shiny diamond ring she didn't seem to mind. We are thinking about late October or early November for the wedding.

Happy Holidays to all

Eric

New blog links

This is just a quick note to tell you that Shannon's blog is now listed in the family blog links on the right side of this page. Also, we added Sarah's blog a little while ago, but didn't mention it before, so now it's officially mentioned.

Nice Christmas Performance!

Julie, Stanley and I went with Randall to the Christmas Fireside for Mom's and Dad's stake. Lee played the oboe and Kevin played the acoustic bass on one song. They knocked "I Saw Three Ships" right out of the ballpark!...if it's possible to do such a thing.

We really enjoyed the performance, especially Kevin's virtuoso performance on the bass. Nice work everyone!
