Family get-togethers in Oct.

In a nutshell: NO OCTOBER get-together at Coralee's this month.

The extended version:
I'm extremely busy with the fundraiser for school, finishing up Trek stuff, playing chauffer for soccer practices and games, chauffer for preschool, etc. I'm not up for having everyone over this month, even though it's my turn. My thought is since we'll probably be eating chocolate waffles at some point this weekend, we can do our get-together for birthdays then. Besides, the women will be getting together for Katie's bridal shower at some point which is already two trips to SLC for the Provo bunch (conference and shower). I haven't heard when chocolate waffles are so if anyone else knows more than I do, clue me in. Does birthdays this weekend with waffles sound okay? If we don't do waffles, then I suggest the October b-days can be combined with the November b-days.

Bridal Bash

When would you like to do Katie's bridal shower? Annette was thinking that Conference Sat night at 6:00 would be great. Let's do a little secret planning in the near future. Katie--just ignore this blog!

Family Get Together/Eagle Court

We are getting together at Rett and Annette's pad at 4:30; Kevin's Eagle Court begins at 7:00.
We are b-b-q-ing kabobs. Items to bring: (please sign up)

Meat, green peppers: Annette
Sticks,rice, pineapple, marinade: Dawn
Two red onions, red peppers, sweet potato (maybe?): Coralee
Zucchini, yellow crookneck, jalapeno peppers, grape-sized tomatoes: Coralee (from the garden!)
Fruit or fruit salad or fruit loops: Julian Scott
Rolls or another starch (baked beans, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, whatever): Shannon
Chips or a nibbly dessert
A dessert if we want; this is optional because there'll be dessert at Kevin's court: Coralee will bring a small cake for the birthday thing and we can eat more dessert with Kevin's court.

Please bring any veggies you think would be cool to throw on the sticks (we like sweet potatoes, onions, tomatoes and red peppers personally). If you want to marinade them ahead of time as you are traveling, just cut the veggies into 1-2 inch piece, and throw in a ziploc bag that has salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vin, or whatever. We'll grill the veggie skwers seperately of the meat sticks.

Word Verification

Julie's brother Michael mentioned to us that there's a feature in the Settings>Comments section of each blog that is "Word Verification". It creates those weird word pictures that you have to type into a box to verify that you're not a robot. That should keep the robot commenters at bay. I turned it on on this blog, and I'm trying it out on mine to see if it helps.
